About Us

Our History


Nearly 30 years ago, Richard Dudzicki founded RDA Architects with a vision to transform the way people perceive and experience their homes. Even before achieving Passivhaus certification in 2010, the practice was pioneering eco-friendly and sustainable home design, setting new benchmarks for healthier, more energy-efficient living.


Over the years, RDA has completed more than 300 projects, each a testament to our commitment to innovation, craftsmanship, and environmental responsibility. From bespoke residential designs to larger commercial and community-focused projects, we continue to fulfill Richard’s mission by delivering cutting-edge solutions that enhance the way people live and work.


In 2016, we moved to our current home in the leafy heart of East Dulwich. Our office, a transformed bakery-turned-studio, reflects our ethos of thoughtful design and adaptive reuse. This transformation celebrates our creative process and exemplifies how architecture can breathe new life into existing spaces.


Today, RDA Architects stands as a RIBA-chartered practice with a reputation for innovation and collaboration. We remain passionate about designing buildings that are sustainable, inspiring, and deeply connected to the people and communities they serve.


Richard Dudzicki

Richard Dudzicki is a globally-recognised architect and industry leader within the Passivhaus community. As Founder and Director of RDA Architecture & Interiors in London, Richard has been at the forefront of sustainable home design for over 26 years. He most recently won Best Green Home 2023 at The Daily Telegraph Homebuilding & Renovating Awards. With more than 200 energy-efficient projects under his belt, Richard’s mission is to change perceptions of what a home can be, proving that energy efficiency and stunning architecture can coexist. A passionate advocate for climate action, Richard’s own passive Enerphit home is a testament to his commitment to both design and sustainability.

  • What makes RDA different from other architects?

    At RDA, we prioritise our clients. Undergoing a new project can be stressful, so we make sure that your comfort comes first. As a small and highly experienced team, we have the benefit of being able to spend a lot of time developing our client relationships and ensuring that all of your needs, no matter how big or small, are met. 

  • Do you have experience working with public figures?

    RDA has worked with a number of public figures. Due to the private and intimate nature of our work, respecting the privacy and security of our clients is a top priority. For this reason, we offer a non-disclosure option to all clients.

  • What is a Passivhaus?

    To qualify as a certified Passivhaus, a building has to meet rigorous standards ensuring its efficiency. Passivhauses are designed to be highly efficient, so that things like drafts and over/underheating are a thing of the past. By improving the thermal efficiency of your home, it reduces the energy required to heat it, improving your year-round comfort, reducing your energy bills and your impact on the planet.
